Episode 48: Harry Leeming – founder of Visible

"Necessity is the mother of invention" - Human history is littered with examples of solutions being sought for problems stimulated by difficulty. In this age of smart phones and wearable technology, Long Covid sufferer Harry Leeming, sought a way to manage and monitor this brand new post-viral illness. He has used his background in tech to create the activity tracking platform Visible.

Visible is designed to provide Long Covid and ME / CFS sufferers with a way to monitor and manage symptoms.  Ultimately it will combine an app, a wearable device, and the ability to contribute data to medical research, giving sufferers both an overview and detailed analysis of their condition whilst creating a bridge between the communities of these chronic conditions and the medical experts who are trying to solve the conundrums and develop treatments.

Launched this week, their free app, currently in the beta phase, is the first part of their product.  It enables users to do a daily HRV check, enter data such a medicines, activity and stress, and tracks symptoms.  With over 100 million people living with these sorts of energy-limiting conditions, the idea is to track illness in relevant and condition-sensitive ways, rather than to promote ever increasing activity as is currently available in fitness tracking apps.

TLC Sessions caught up with Harry with whom they have struck up a friendship over the past year or so, bonding over their new Long Covid reality.
