Episode 16: Michael Rosen – Author

Michael Rosen has written over 140 books so we thought he might be just the person to put Long Covid and its consequences into words.  In March 2020 COVID-19 caused him to be put into an induced coma to save his life. This week he shares his story with us, talking about his illness, his recovery from the acute phase, the impacts of Long Covid, and how he uses his writing to process his experiences.

We discuss the government’s response to the pandemic, how both literature and social media can give a sense of shared experience and belonging, and hear about the books – Many Different Kinds of Love and Sticky McStickstick - that have stemmed from his reaction to the virus.

“Many Different Kinds of Love, A story of life, death and the NHS” is out now in hardback, and will be published in paperback in March 2022. “Sticky McStickstick”, a book for children, will be published in November 2021.
